The Scottish Embassy Project is a non profit development organization that is being set up to provide volunteer assistance and support to aid and development organisations to help improve the lives of those in developing countries. "Helping Those Who Help Others" The first Scottish Embassy Project is in operation in The Gambia, West Africa.
The Project is structured on 3 levels:
Volunteer/Aid Workers Resource Centre
Our resource centre and café bar is a haven for volunteers, a place where they can seek out support, advice or find out information on a range of topics from living and working in the Gambia to what projects are in operation. They can use our resource centre as a base, arrange meetings, catch up on any admin or simply share experiences with other volunteers. Our Café Bar is also a great place to try our Scottish Gambian culinary fusion "Haggis Domoda" which is best washed down with an ice cold can of Irn Bru, a hit with Gambians and multi national volunteers alike.
We facilitate and create opportunities for aid and development organisations to network, with the aim of breaking down the barriers of communication to allow more cost effective ways to achieve their purpose through collaboration, sharing ideas and resources.
Volunteer/Aid Workers Accommodation
Affordable, safe and comfortable accommodation for multi national volunteers and aid workers from all backgrounds who are already within the country and individuals and groups arriving for short stay projects.
We will provide extra assistance by integrating our multi-national volunteers into established local and international aid and development projects within Health, Education, Environment, Engineering and Creative Arts.
WE ARE GROWING!We are currently developing and restructuring the organization so we can progress forward in helping those who help others. We aim to be operational from our new resource centre in the Gambia in the next few months. Please bear with us while we construct our new website.
